Arts for Mental Health

Art is a proven effective way to healing trauma, depression, and other problems concerning the mental state of the person. In fact, there are certain psychiatric practices involving art therapy to cure patients from minor and major neurosis.

It has been known to all that for a person to be emotionally and mentally stable, he or she has to communicate. In the case of certain patients, however, factors such as fear and lack of an outlet may hold them down from expressing.

As a person undergoes an artistic process, whatever mode it may be (it may be oil painting, finger painting, writing, drawing, digital photography, etc.), he or she may be able to express hidden matters involving the self. An artwork could be a creative statement drawn from both conscious and unconscious mind.
