Choosing Photographs for Your Canvas Print
If you want to display your favourite photo as a centrepiece in your living room or office, then have it printed on canvas. Here are a few tips on how to choose the right images for your canvas print. First, take note of the shape and orientation of the photograph. Most photos are rectangular but most canvas print frames are square, which may result in image distortion. To be safe from distortion, choose images with lots of background or “dead space” at the sides. Choose a photo wherein the subject is near but not on the centre of the photo. If the subject is too off-centre for your taste, you can ask the printer to crop the picture to accommodate the subject.
Finally, make sure that you choose high-quality digital images with high resolution. The image of your choice should have at least more than 100 dots per square inch (dpi). Below this rating, the canvas print will be blurry. That is why it is recommended that you choose or take photos with a high-definition digital single lens reflex camera, which records images with a very high resolution.
